HA! Now I'm 'savvy' like all the rest of you.

I thought I'd set this up, in the calm before the storm. This way, I won't have to go through the lengthy task of trying to email lots of different people via satellite phone from the middle of nowhere. And with the money I'm saving Lee on the Globalstar bill, he'll be guilted into buying me countless beers. I can see it now. High Country Inn, here I come. Or better yet the Pit in Dawson City.
So this is where I'll be posting news and pics for this crazy summer season, 2006. The way things are right now, I leave June 4th for the Yukon and a stint in the field area for my Masters': LOGTUNG. Its an interesting name, as are most staked properties when they start out. But I like it. Its got a nice, logical ring to it, seeing as its a tungsten deposit. And there's already drillers there! I love it. My very own drillers. How sweet.
Following that, things are up in the air. Plans are changing by the minute, but there's still a whole month of planning, plus a brief TA trip to field school, (which should be barely memorable afterwards judging by the group thats going) before June. I'm feeling pretty good at how things are shaping up though, and there's no way the weather could be as bad this year as it was in 2005. God is just not that cruel.
As long as I remember my tent poles this time.

We live in the hope of one day being as savvy as you al!
Your blog looks great. Way impressed. Clearly, I have some work to do on catching up with my (younger!) sis! we miss, miss, miss you already but love that we get to hear so much about your many adventures already. More details are definetly needed about your creepy whitehorse freak experience- we know how much you eant to relive that! glad to hear you are eating well (you actually ate the cake? Or was it just a passing glance as you only managed pie?) before the days of reconstitution begin! It is sunny and warm here but will rain tomorrow. Mom may have gotten poison ivy from picking roses along the dyke tonight. i am absorbed in report card writing and IRP's that I am pretending to have covered this term Will check back tomorrow and write you and encourage mom to try it out too. Good to hear that you are safe and making the big bucks!
Lots of love, meg and mom
Hi guys!
blogger was down for a bit but its back up and I will post another one tonight.
Thats awful that mom has poison ivy! Do you put calamine on something like that? Are you done your reports yet?
Things are going pretty well here - yes I ate the cake and also pie last night! But I'm missing the peach pie. It was so good. Perfect really.
The drunken indian was about 70 years old and identified himself as a drunken indian so I'm allowed to say that. He was pretty funny!
You just have to laugh and not be offended cuz then they feel bad and flip out and that is never good.
I miss you guys so much! Hope you are now back to enjoying some nice weather. Its gorgeous up here right now - we didn't even have one day last summer as nice as the last three days have been! Not a cloud in the sky....nice and warm until the sun goes behind the hill.
But there is so much snow its going to be at leat a week before we can see any outcrops.
More tonight!
Love ali
